Deleting a project — a video, comic, series, or issue
How do I delete a project? How do I delete this video, or this comic, or scrap it and start over? Every kind of project — a story video, a comic series, a single issue — has its own delete button, and it is in the place you're already working. Deletion is permanent (there is no trash and no undo) and spent credits are never refunded.
Jump to: a video · a video series or episode · a comic series · an issue
This page is about removing a project. To delete your whole account, see Account settings, password, deletion.
Delete a story video
Open the video, go to the Tools section of the left rail, and scroll to the bottom of the Video group. Delete video is the last item, in red.
You'll get a confirmation dialog listing what goes with it.
To delete several videos at once, go to your dashboard, open the Videos tab, and click Select. Tick the videos you want, then click Delete in the bar that appears at the bottom.
Bulk select only works on standalone videos. A series has to be deleted from its own page (below).
Delete a video series or a single episode
Open the series page.
- The whole series — the trash icon at the far right of the series title row. Confirms first.
- One episode — the trash icon on that episode's row. This one deletes immediately, with no confirmation step. Be careful where you click.
Deleting a series deletes every episode in it.
Delete a comic series
Open the comic, then click the ⋮ menu at the top-right of the title bar and choose Delete Series. Confirms first.
This removes the entire series: every issue, every page, and the characters and assets that belong to it.
Delete an issue
Three ways, whichever suits where you are:
- From the issue list — the ⋮ menu on the issue card → Delete.
- From inside the editor — the Tools section of the left rail, at the bottom: Delete Issue.
- Several at once — on the Issues tab, click Select, tick the issues, then Delete.
Deleting one issue from a series keeps your characters and assets — they belong to the series, not the issue.
What deletion actually removes
Permanently, and immediately:
- Every rendered page, panel, or video clip in that project
- The script and all its versions
- Characters, assets, and locations that belong only to what you deleted
- Any public link. If you had published the comic or video, anyone who saved that link now gets a "not found" page.
Are credits refunded?
No. Credits are spent when art is generated, not when it's kept. Deleting a video you already rendered does not return those credits, and re-rendering later costs full price again.
If a generation failed — that's different, and it's refunded automatically. See Failed generations and refunds.
If you just want to stop a project being visible to other people, unpublish it rather than deleting it. That takes down the public link and keeps your work and the credits you spent on it. See publishing and sharing for comics, or exporting and publishing a video.
On the iPhone app
The iOS app can delete issues (the trash button in the editor's bottom toolbar), plus individual characters, assets, pages, and panels.
It cannot delete a whole comic series, and it has no video features at all. For those, use ComicInk on the web.
