Sidekick conversation history

Sidekick is the AI assistant built into the comic issue editor and the Story Video studio. It keeps a history of your conversations, so you can go back to an earlier one and pick up where you left off.

Where to find it

Open Sidekick, then click the list icon in its header, next to the new-chat pencil. The panel switches to your conversation list. Click ‹ Back to chat to return without changing anything.

Each row shows:

  • the conversation's title
  • when you last opened it
  • how many messages it holds

Reopening a conversation

Click any row. Sidekick loads that conversation's full transcript and makes it the active one — anything you type next continues that thread. Reopening also moves it to the top of the list, so a page refresh brings you back to where you were.

Starting a new conversation

Click the pencil icon. Sidekick clears the panel and starts a fresh thread.

This no longer deletes anything. Previously, starting a new chat permanently erased the conversation you were in; now the old one stays in your history and you can return to it any time.

An empty new chat isn't saved until you actually send a message, so clicking the pencil and changing your mind leaves nothing behind.

Titles

Sidekick writes a short title for each conversation after your first exchange — usually three to six words describing what you were working on, in the language you use the app in.

Until that title is generated, and if it can't be generated, the conversation is labelled with the opening words of your first message instead.

Deleting a conversation

Hover a row in the history list and click the ×. You'll be asked to confirm. Deleting is permanent — there's no undo and no archive.

How many are kept

Sidekick keeps your 20 most recent conversations per comic issue and per video. When you start a 21st, the least recently opened one is deleted automatically to make room.

Conversations are separate per issue and per video. The history you see in one issue's editor is that issue's own; it doesn't mix with another issue or with a Story Video.

Does it cost credits?

No. Sidekick is free while it's in beta, and browsing your history, reopening a conversation, and deleting one are all free. Actions you ask Sidekick to perform — generating a page, rendering a scene, creating a character — cost their normal credits, exactly as they do elsewhere in the app.

A note on older conversations

Conversation history only covers conversations from this feature onward. If you clicked the new-chat button before it shipped, those earlier conversations were deleted at the time and can't be recovered.
