Generating covers
Every issue gets a front cover, and you can optionally add a back cover. Each costs 25 credits to generate.
Front cover
The front cover is the first thing readers see — in your dashboard, on a published reader page, in the gallery, in social shares. The AI generates a cover that:
- Features your main characters in their defined looks
- Reflects the issue's tone and genre based on the synopsis
- Includes the issue title (rendered as in-image text in your chosen language)
- Matches the issue's art style
You can:
- Provide a cover prompt to guide composition ("Maya stands in the rain on a Tokyo rooftop, lit by neon")
- Pick which characters to feature
- Regenerate the cover if the result doesn't fit (25 credits per regeneration)
Back cover
Optional, useful for:
- A teaser image that wraps the story
- A character lineup
- A "next issue" hook
- Decorative artwork
Back covers cost 25 credits to generate. Skip them if you only care about the front.
Cover styles
Covers use the same art style as the rest of the issue — a manga issue gets a manga-style cover, a noir issue gets a noir cover. You don't pick the style separately for the cover.
Title rendering
The AI renders the issue title as part of the cover image, in the issue's language. If the title comes out small or hard to read, regenerate with a more specific prompt that calls for prominent title placement (e.g., "issue title 'Neon Storm' rendered large at the top").
Translating a cover
If you translate your issue to another language, the cover gets a separate translated version generated automatically — see translating your comic. Each cover translation also costs 25 credits.
Failed cover generation
Same as pages — if the generation fails (content moderation, timeout, model error), you're refunded automatically. Edit the prompt or characters and try again.
