Setting up your storefront
A storefront is your branded public page where readers can browse and buy your published comics. You keep 70% of every sale (see Stripe Connect: getting paid).
Setting up a storefront is free — no credit cost.
What you get
- A branded page at
comicink.ai/stores/<your-handle>(or your custom domain). - A creator profile with your name, avatar, and bio.
- A list of all the issues you've added to the store.
- Per-issue pricing and access controls (free / paid / preview).
- Reader purchase flow handled by Stripe.
- Stripe Connect for receiving payouts.
How to set one up
In the dashboard:
- Open the Store section in the sidebar.
- Click New Store and pick a name and handle. Your handle becomes part of the URL.
- Upload a logo and banner. Both are free to generate via the platform's AI image tools, or upload your own.
- Connect Stripe (you'll be redirected to Stripe Connect to complete onboarding — bank account, ID verification, etc.).
- Add issues to your store from your published issues list.
- Set a price per issue (or mark them free).
Adding issues to the store
For each published issue, you can:
- Add to store — appears in your storefront.
- Set the price — free, or any price. Stripe minimum is around $0.50.
- Preview/paywall mode — readers see the first page or two for free; the rest requires purchase. Useful for getting people hooked.
- Remove from store — keeps the issue published but takes it off the storefront.
Pricing your issues
There's no platform-imposed price floor or ceiling beyond Stripe's minimum. Common pricing patterns from creators:
- $0.99 – $2.99 for short standalone issues
- $3.99 – $7.99 for full-length issues with rich production
- Free first issue + paid subsequent issues to convert readers to fans
- Bundles aren't currently supported as a single SKU; sell each issue individually
Custom domain
You can map a domain you own (e.g., comics.yourname.com) to your storefront. In your store settings, point your DNS at our hosting endpoint and enter the domain in the store config. We'll provision an SSL certificate automatically.
This is optional — your store at comicink.ai/stores/<handle> works without a custom domain.
Branding and design
You control:
- Store name and tagline
- Logo and banner
- Color theme (one of a few preset palettes)
- Issue cover ordering
The platform handles the layout, the cart, and the purchase flow.
What you can't customize (yet)
- Full HTML/CSS layout — you pick from preset templates rather than write your own.
- Custom-branded checkout page — checkout is Stripe's standard hosted flow, branded with your store name and logo.
- Multi-creator stores — each store is owned by one creator account.
Storefront on iOS
iOS users can read everything in your storefront, but storefront management (creating, editing, configuring) is web-only for now. Manage your store at comicink.ai; readers buy on whichever device they prefer.
Where the money goes
Sales flow through Stripe Connect to your bank account. The platform takes 30%, you keep 70%. See Stripe Connect: getting paid for payout schedules and tax info.
